Personality |
Yorukai is the kind of person that tries his best to be liked by
everyone he meets. He's very outgoing and enthusiastic and doesn't
understand the word "caution" at all. Yorukai will not leave
anyone alone until he knows why they're angry and what he can do
to make things better, whether his help is wanted or not and the
impression he gives is that he really doesn't really know what
he's doing or what's going on. Internally it's an entirely
different story.
He knows very well that the best way to stay in the loop to
prevent anyone from thinking that there could be anything odd
about him. To keep his identities separated, he makes it a point
to appear totally harmless as Yorukai but stoic and grim as
Shinigami. |
|
Background |
Yorukai currently lives in an all-boys student dorm in Tokyo
University with a roommate, Akuma. He usually doesn't stay in one
city for more than 8 years since people start noticing that he
doesn't seem to be aging and some inconvenient questions will be
asked. He is, after all, supposed to avoid attracting attention to
himself.
When Yorukai had first arrived in the city, he wasted no time
in running afoul of some creditors. He's desperately searching for
a way to placate them since just waiting for them to die was
particularly difficult when they had the power of the Okugi
corporate empire behind them. He was caught by the heir, Okugi
Akio, and told to work off his debt as a bodyguard for his younger
brother, Okugi Akuma.
At first Yorukai refused Akio's terms but Akuma bullied Yorukai
into it by saying that he had pictures of a certain blue-haired
individual that hadn't seemed to have aged in all the decades he
had been in Japan and, besides, it was only fair that
Yorukai compensate them for all the trouble he's caused.
As for his life before arriving on earth, that's a secret. All
I'll say is that he was originally from Rusalki of the Kui-Shen
solar system.

Powers |
|
(1) |
Vocal hypnosis - Like the sirens of classical
Greece, he has the ability to hypnotize people with his voice and
charm them to do what he wants. However, this ability is mostly
suppressed by his Shinigami powers and inaccessible. |
|
|
|
|
(2) |
Lightning Storm |
|
|
Offensive electric-based move that creates either be a single,
strong bolt or a much weaker area attack. |
|
|
|
|
(3) |
Thunder |
|
|
An attack that pretty much useless except to cause a distraction.
Shinigami draws electricity from the area into his scythe and
releases it in a single (hopefully) bright/deafening blast after
striking the ground. |
|
|
|
|
(4) |
Lucid Fury |
|
|
Shinigami's strongest move. It boosts his combat abilities
exponentially depending on how much electricity he can absorb from
the environment. Saying "Lucid Fury" activates a quick
electricity drain (max range: 4m) and Shinigami enters a mindless
berserker mode where he attacks everyone in the area. Only physical
attacks can be used when this mode is activated. The down side is
that once Shinigami's endurance is completely exhausted, he will be
unconscious, de-transformed and unable to transform or move until
his body fully recovers. Also, using this attack permanently lowers
his resistance the electricity he uses in all of his attacks. |
