Kouhei was born on Ryuza to Shen-Hu
parents that were living there to relay information back to their
world. However, it was very dangerous to raise a child with
non-Ryuzan heritage and Kouhei didn't want to cause his parents
any trouble, so he left to fend for himself. It was in the capital
city that Kouhei became friends with Prince Shinsei Aitou, who
bullied the royal family into accepting Kouhei as his servant.
Kouhei became Aitou's unofficial
bodyguard and was eventually told of the existence of a special
unit, the Silver Shadows, that didn't answer to the royal family.
Kouhei accepted Aitou's request to infiltrate the group to find
out where the unit's loyalties truly lay. He became good friends
with Mikata, who pulled some strings to get Kouhei into the group,
and joined Mikata when he returned home to visit his family. It
was during these frequent visits that Kouhei fell for Amefuri.
Eventually he learned from Mikata (who vanished shortly after) that the SShadows
were puppets of someone high up. Kouhei tried to tell Aitou, only to be warned that the
royal family had lost their last real power and that he couldn't
protect the
rebellious team anymore. Kouhei manufactured the circumstances in
the Sol mission that got Amefuri exiled to Earth and he was later contacted by Mikata,
who offered the team sanctuary from Ryuza. Unfortunately, Kouhei
was unable to reach the others before the team was disbanded and
exiled to various locations around the Ryuza empire.
