However, he has an dry sense of humour and likes to have conversations with people that realize that. 

Yuugiri is from Shen-Hu but he hated outdoor activity because it was too much work. Instead, he liked to use his intelligence and manipulate the people into doing his work for him. He often got into trouble with his family for "cheating" through the use of spirits and the other kids his age thought he was weird but useful. They came to Yuugiri to try and get him to tell them secrets about the other people in the city but he always found ways to sidestep the issue in conversations.

As he grew older, his ability to see and speak to spirits grew stronger until he was unable to tell the living from the dead and scared away most of his living friends as a result. Yuugiri began using his skill to get revenge on the people that abandoned him and was contacted by various gangs to help them in their war. For a long time, he played all sides by giving information for a fee until his scheme backfired and an inter-war gang broke out. He was caught in the crossfire and unable to fight back.

Mikata was on assignment to Shen-Hu at the time and offered his protection on the condition that Yuugiri joined the team on Ryuza. He accepted and liked tell embarrassing stories to Amefuri about the team whenever she visited. Yuugiri had no reason to stay after Mikata disappeared but Phantom who cautioned Yuugiri that his Shen-Hu heritage could be revealed if he left. Yuugiri became part of Phantom's personal unit and disappeared from the official records.
  

He asked Mikata if re-forging his Soul Crystal into the Infusco Emblem would provide greater control over his powers and Mikata replied in the affirmative. After this was done, Yuugiri claimed a room in the mansion and suggested that the whole team find places to live in the city if they were going to stay for a long period of time. This, he reasoned, would make it easier for them to move around the city without suspicion.

After arriving Tokyo, he bought a small rundown apartment near a cemetery that most people are afraid of going near. Yuugiri is still contacted from time-to-time by Phantom and given jobs but he spends most of his time working as a freelance detective. He has no office, can only be contacted on his cell phone and is hired either through personal interview or referral by a previous client.
